Organic Farming

From debts to riches

With the advent of Green Revolution, though there was a temporary rise in the economic levels of the farming fraternity but with time, the nutrient value of the soil and crops have gone down with the unwarranted usage of the chemical fertilizers and other inputs.

Now it’s time to move towards sustainable methods of agriculture if we do not intend to leave barren pieces of land for our coming generations. Thus the organisation associating itself with various governmental and non governmental bodies in the region introduced the concept of Organic Farming in the villages associated with us.

Research and Relief Society has launched an Organic Campaign amongst the farmers of the region and have been proudly associated with over 300 farmers from 27 different villages. The Organic farming is the need of the hour and it has been realised as the sustainable form of agriculture.

The fertility of the region has also suffered at the hands of agricultural practices and thus practises like horticulture have been motivated among the farmers. In furtherance to this, the cropping of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants have also been encouraged with the agriculturists of the region in order to increase their income manifolds.

Thus the farmers who have fallen into the vicious circle of debt is now enjoying his economic growth and is motivating others towards Organic farming, this has all been possible due to the committed efforts of Research and Relief Society.
