Towards our aim of a better society, we are associated with various local and national organisations and engage ourselves in various activities amounting from social emancipation of rural and marginalised community to their empowerment towards a better future. In the same direction, Research and Relief Society, went ahead with initiating two programs in the name of SANDESH and PRERNA.
SANDESH- A hope for the forgotten
SANDESH is a program initiated for the children of the marginalised community who have been deprived of their childhood in the wake of adding to the income of the family being victim of child labour. It was not an easy task to bring those children to schools, particularly when their parents considered them an earning hand.
The process started with counselling of the parents in order to encourage them to send their children to school started by Research and Relief Society. The organisation is proud to announce 12 centres of SANDESH running successfully around the region. Each centre has over 50 students enrolled and the centres have received local support and now have been very popular among the marginalised community whether it be farmers or rag pickers.
The aim is to educate these children deprived of their basic rights, so that they can manage to claim their rights in future. The empowerment which is being transferred through these centres is going to leave an ever lasting impact on the children enrolled with the centres. This is an effort marking a change.
We hereby invite and appeal to one and all to contribute ensuring a better future for at least the next generation of the community.
PRERNA- A beginning towards a better life
The rural and marginalised community still witnesses women as the oppressed class in the 21st century India. It is important to enhance their social stature in the society and thus Research and Relief Society went ahead with launching a program under the title of PRERNA. The program is a beginning towards a better life for the better sex.
Under this program, 27 centres have been initiated all around the region. The centres are focussed on imparting vocational skills to the women folk of the marginalised community of the society. The centre focus on over all development of the women enrolled with the centres. It is proudly boasted that each centre facilitates over 40 women during any given time. The trainings given therein are from varied spheres of life and the enrolled female is free to chose the vocation of her choice. This includes stitching, creating handicrafts, waste management, computer education, production of agro-based products like jams and jellies etc.
Through these centres the beneficiaries are empowered to be independent in the society and be a helping hand towards the income of the family rather than being a liability on it.
